I was raised as a fourth generation Latter Day Saint (aka- "Mormon"). In the 1980's the Mormons were all over the news because of an "ancient" LDS document(s) discovered titled the "Salamander Letters". I highly recommend you google it, it's quite a story. This month is PRIDE. As mentioned before, I was a devout Mormon from birth, and at age 24 decided to leave all my old beliefs behind because- it was all a lie. I am a queer woman, and as a teenager suppressed these thoughts and feelings. I would start to pray or read my scriptures to have "clean & hetero" thoughts. I convinced myself I wasn't queer and I married a man at age 22. I was the first person in generations to leave the religion. I am free, and I finally feel like myself. Now that I've left mormonism, I'm discovering life and this planet in a whole new way. I was taught to fear the world, but now I'm the alien who's discovering it.
